Troy Merritt took back home his first ever PGA Tour trophy by winning the Quicken Loans National. Few were online betting enthusiasts who really believed in the victory of Troy Merritt in this competition. Yet, he dethroned a number of world-famed players, the likes of Rickie Fowler and Tiger Woods. After the first two rounds, Troy made it to 35th for 68 and 70 greens. Things seemed to go so fast that sports betting did not notice Troy Merritt shooting a 10-under-par 61 to join Kevin Chappell in the leaderboard.
Troy Merritt experienced a fantastic day by scoring three birdies on the way. Kevin Chappell actually dropped down in the standings with a 6-over 77. Despite a bogey at 12, Merritt came up on top of the list with a new birdie on 18. Rickie Fowler run closer behind all along the day, but finally ended up at 15 under. Indeed, Troy Merritt wrapped up the day winning the Quicken Loans National with three points ahead (18 under) on Fowler. Tiger Woods finished 18th place with a 3-under 68. It is worth mentioning that the 29-year American golfer will play the WGC Bridgestone Invitational this week. He has been qualified for the Players Championship and the 2016 Masters.
